Pulse Width


Pulse width is the time that elapses between the leading and trailing edges of a pulse.

Leading in the above definition means, the positive-going or the negative going edges of a pulse. The events in a given cycle occur in the order described in the definition above. The positive-going edge is the leading edge, while the negative-going edge is the trailing edge. A pulse’s high and low (on/off) time interval is known as duty cycle.
